Stress can be a big factor in you life, no matter what is going on. Stress is something that can take your life and change it from something that is wonderful to something that you'd rather be out of. Luckily, there are some great tips that you can follow in order to keep yourself stress free. 1. Take care of you. Some of the best ways to deal with stress have been the ways that have been used for a long time. Get plenty of regular exercise, sleep well, eat well, don't smoke, and have moderate to minimal alcohol intake. If you can balance out your life, you will find that stress form other things affect you less. 2. Organization is something that comes easy for some, and hard for others. Try to keep as organized as you can, and eliminate clutter. Clutter can be stressful and can remind you of all of the things that need to be done. Take some time to get rid of the clutter and get organized. 3. Boundaries aren't just for your grandkids playing in the yard. You have to be sure that you set boundaries for yourself. Make sure that you set rules for what others can do in your presence, and what they can do. Then, figure out a way to share these boundaries respectfully with anyone who is stepping over them. 4. Time for yourself is one of the most important factors in getting rid of stress. If you can take even a few moments each day, you'll feel better. A good way to do this is to make a list of the things that you love to do but haven't had time to do. Put the list in priority order, and then put the first 5 or 6 or 7 into your daily calendar of things to do. This can be anything form reading a book for fun, to doing yoga, to watching that great television program. 5. Always be positive. If you can have a positive attitude, your day to day routine will seem to go better, and you'll be happier, as well as be less stress free. 6. Do something you love. If you are stuck in a career that frustrates you, ask yourself if the money you are making is worth it. If you can find something to do that you love, you will be much less stress free, and you'll be happier with the way that your life has gone. 7. If you can keep yourself surrounded by people who love and support you, just the way that you are, you'll eliminate the stress that comes with trying to fit in with other people or people who aren't good for you. 8. Saying No is hard for some people, in fact, it is hard for a lot of people. However, if you can learn to say no to the things that you just don’t have time for, or that you just don't want to do, you'll be happier. 9. If there are things that you are tolerating – things that you are putting up with even though they irritate you or drain your energy – get rid of them. Tolerating things doesn't help ease your stress, it creates more for you. Get rid or change the things that you are only tolerating, and you'll be less stressed. 10. You are important. Your needs have to be met. Define the things that you need from the things that you want, and get those things that you need done and taken care of. If your needs are met you'll be happier. |
